Samyam Acharya's VWA highly commended in C3-Awards

On 31 May 2016 Samyam Acharya, 8B, was given a prize in the highly commended category of the C3-Awards for his outstanding Vorwissenschaftliche Arbeit, ‘Internet usage of teenagers in Nepal for educational purposes’. The ceremony took place at the C3 Zentrum für Internationale Entwicklung, Sensengasse and the Award was newly established this year for VWAs that deal with global themes and international development.

Out of over 100 VWAs entered Austria-wide, Samyam’s was one of nine selected for special recognition by a panel of academics and experts drawn from the five organisations that make up C3 — ÖFSE, BAOBAB, Frauen*solidarität, the Paulo Freire Zentrum and Mattersburger Kreis für Entwicklungspolitik. For more information on the Award and the organisations involved see http://www.centrum3.at/aktuelles/c3-award/

The school would like to congratulate Samyam on his fantastic achievement and we hope that it inspires more students from BRG19 to critically engage with highly relevant global issues.
